We are located in Asheville, North Carolina in the beautiful mountain ranges between the Smoky and Blue Ridge Mountains. I have been showing dogs since 1982. Starting in obedience, I quickly learned the value of training and socialization of your dog at an early age. I love to train puppies for the show ring!
As a young man my start in dogs began with miniature poodles, learning to scissor, put up topknots, and present my dogs for the ring. After finishing five poodles, one of which was a toy poodle, my wife and I made the decision to get a Boxer.
Our Love For This Breed
Our love for this breed started with a 9 week old bitch named Bianca, she was our first show hopeful. After attending many handling classes it was evident that she just wasn't a natural show dog. I strongly believe that in order to compete successfully in the conformation ring your dog must have the will to show. We decided not to show Bianca and she remained our beloved pet. Sadly, at 6 years of age Bianca was diagnosed with Kidney failure and died in my arms. We were heart broken and our home felt empty without her. After a search for many months Earl Overstreet helped us find a lovely girl, our "Isabelle". She would be our first boxer champion, CH Odannys Cantermar French Kiss. We are proud to have her as the foundation for CanterMar Boxers. Isabelle finished with two back to back 4 point majors at Specialties and one 5 point major. What a way to finish! We strongly believe in health testing and are committed to breeding healthy boxers with fabulous temperaments that fit the standard.
